Step 1: Measure Spring Circumference (Fits 6.50" - 10.50")
Start by accurately measuring the circumference (distance around) of your garage door torsion spring. This SpringSaver Size 1 kit is engineered specifically to fit springs with a circumference between 6.50" and 10.50". A precise measurement ensures the wrap creates a sealed barrier to block moisture and prevent rust.
Step 2: Measure Spring Length (Example: 32 Inches)
Measure the full length of your spring coil from end to end. To get maximum noise reduction, the wrap must cover the entire spring. Measurement Example: Let's say your spring measures 32 inches long (as shown in the diagram). The Rule: Always choose a kit equal to or longer than your measurement. Never choose a shorter size, as exposed coils will rust and remain noisy.
Step 3: Select the Correct Kit (Size Up & Trim) Match your measurement to the correct kit code.
Using the 32-inch example from Step 2, you would select the 1-36 kit (36-inch length) rather than the 30-inch version.
